After a stormy Tuesday, a much cooler and drier airmass has once again settled across the peninsula.

The wind was our big story Wednesday as northwest winds gusted to around 30 mph. Under a mix of clouds and sun, highs were held back in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

High pressure building across the southeast will bring our wind down overnight and clear out our sky. Very dry air cools quickly, so expect lows to drop back into the upper 30s north and lower 40s elsewhere.

We’ll keep the upper 60s and lower 70s around Thursday and Friday, then begin warming back slightly above seasonable levels in the upper 70s and lower 80s for the weekend.

Dry conditions stick around through the first part of next week, with no significant systems anytime soon.

A small easterly trade swell and wave heights around one to two feet will create a poor surfcast for our Thursday.

The rip current threat will fluctuate between low and moderate, so be careful if you’re swimming and do so near an open lifeguard stand.

Sea surface temps are in the mid to upper 60s. The UV index is very high, so a burn starts in under 15 minutes.
