A missing Orange County teen is found in Las Vegas with a woman accused of luring her to run away through Snapchat, according to Orange County Sheriff's Office.

During a press conference on Friday, Sheriff Jerry Demings explained how a 14-year-old girl was reported missing after she left a note saying she was going to harm herself.

With the help of the girl's classmates, investigators found out the girl had a boyfriend out of state on social media.

Officials say that 20-year-old Alana Baker from Las Vegas traveled to Orlando, picked up the young girl and brought her to Las Vegas.

"They should scare you as parents. As members of our community, as members of the media because we are trying to prevent the unthinkable from occurring in the future," Demings said.

Baker has been charged with kidnapping, solicitation and lewd and lascivious conduct, officials said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

This comes just after a 24-year-old man was arrested for picking up another 11-year-old girl in Orange County after making her believe he was a teenage girl on social media.

In both cases, Demings made the same plea to parents: Monitor your child's social media account.

Demings also said that cases show how there are people out there looking to manipulate young children on social media.
