Southlake Utilities issued a precautionary boil water notice on Thursday for the southeast area of Lake County.

  • Precautionary boil water notice issued for SE Lake Co.
  • Precaution to last for at least 3 days, officials say

The affected areas include those in southeast Lake County who reside north of U.S. Highway 192 to County Road 474 and Nelson Park Apartments, as well as those east to Summer Bay Resort along the north side of US-192.

The company reported that there was a loss in pressure at its water treatment plant, prompting the alert.

The boil water precaution will last for a minimum of three days, unless notified otherwise, officials said.

In a news release, it suggested that residents bring water to a “vigorous boil” (212 degrees Fahrenheit) to safely drink or cook with water.

Water used for bathing or washing hands doesn’t need to be boiled, officials say.
