A man wanted in connection to the deaths of two people has killed himself, according to Marion County Sheriff's deputies.

  • Deputies: Gregory John Briseno killed his ex, her boyfriend
  • Briseno shot himself to death in vehicle, deputies say
  • Investigators found 'disturbing' Facebook posts

The bodies of Alexis Marie Waranka, 26, and Ryan Anthony Young, 30, were found shot dead early Wednesday morning at her Silver Springs Shores apartment on the 7400 block of Midway Terrace.

Gregory John Briseno, 29, was accused of shooting Waranka, who was his ex-girlfriend, and Young.

As deputies were at investigating the apartment, they received a 911 call about a red Honda near a wooded area on 5 Oak Drive, across from Shores Auto Body and Paint.

Owner David Ryan said he thought someone was sleeping inside the car, but he "waited an hour and a half and still didn't see him move, so I sent one of my guys out there to look, and he got up against the driver's door and noticed a gun was in his hand," Ryan said.

When deputies got there, they saw Briseno "... was deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound," they said.

The Sheriff's Office said it's not searching for anyone else involved in the deaths. Deputies said Briseno's Facebook page contained what they said was an incriminating statement made around the time of the murders.

"It's very disturbing, and you can look over the last 48 hours on his Facebook page, you can see increasingly how disturbing his posts got," said Lauren Lettelier with the Marion Sheriff's Office.

"Unfortunately it culminated in this incident."

Anyone who can provide more information on the case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 352-368-3546 or Crime Stoppers at 352-368-STOP.
