It’s been a windy and cool evening across Central Florida, and temperatures will continue to tumble overnight.

The winds will begin to diminish overnight, with chilly lows in the low to mid 40s. Areas near Ocala will likely push into the upper 30s by daybreak.

Sunshine and cool weather are expected for Tuesday. Expect mostly sunny skies for much of the day, with cooler highs in the mid to upper 60s. We’ll see another chilly night, with lows back in the low to mid 40s.

The cool conditions will persist into the middle part of the work week. We’ll see plenty of sun both Wednesday and Thursday, with below-average temps. Highs will only be in the low 70s both days.

Warmer weather does return to the area starting Friday. Winds will begin to shift to the south, bringing more moisture and warmth to Central Florida. Highs for Friday will be back in the upper 70s with partly cloudy skies.

Right now, St. Patrick’s Day weekend looks great. Partly cloudy skies are expected both days with highs back in the low to mid-80s. A few rain showers will be possible on Sunday, but most should stay dry.

There are some early indications that our next chance for rain may arrive early next week.

A Small Craft Caution will remain in place for Tuesday, with seas 4-6 feet and northerly winds at 5-15 knots. Surfers will have poor-to-fair conditions again, with a north-northeasterly swell.

The rip current threat will remain moderate Tuesday with water temps holding in the upper 60s.
