A woman and a child were found dead in Ocala National Forest on Saturday in an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to an area near Forest Road 88, a few miles north of State Road 40.
A person called authorities at about 10:52 a.m. after finding two deceased people and an injured man.
The woman and the toddler-aged girl both had gunshot wounds, authorities said. The man found at the scene also had an "apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound," investigators said. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of the people involved.
No other details were immediately available.
