Testimony continued Tuesday in the Sanel Saint Simon murder trial, where he is accused of killing his then girlfriend's 16 year-old daughter, Alexandria Chery, in 2014.

In court, the prosecution began to stack up their evidence against Saint Simon by calling to the stand more family, the detectives on the case, and a former boss of Saint Simon.

“Do you remember asking the defendant if he ever went into Alex’s room during that first portion of the interview?" asked the prosecution to a detective.

"His initial statement to me was that he never went into her room," the detective replied.

The state also showed an interview between Saint Simon and Orange County deputies just a day after Chery disappeared.

"What I want to know about, is the relationship between you and Alex. Did you guys talk to each other? How do you all interact?” questioned the detective in the video.

"We never interacted with each other," Saint Simon said.

"No conversations?" the detective said.

"No," Saint Simon said.

Many of the questions in court Tuesday centered around how Saint Simon left work early on the day of Alex’s murder, his behavior, and a cut on his hand.

Through various testimony, the prosecution got witnesses to explain how Saint Simon did not have the cut before going to work on the day of the murder. But later that day, he allegedly had a cut on his hand.

The state also spoke to Chery’s cousin, Dana St. Fleur, 19.

St. Fleur spoke about her close friendship with Chery and how Saint Simon acted when blood was found by Chery’s mother in their apartment.

“Did your aunt, in your presence, ever show this blood to Sanel Saint Simon?" asked the prosecutor.

"Yes," said St. Fleur.

"What did he do when he saw it?" asked the prosecutor.

"He started cleaning it up," said St. Fleur.

"What do you mean -- by cleaning it up?" pressed the prosecutor.

"Every time that she pointed to a blood spot, he would just try to rinse it off with the water," said St. Fleur.

Testimony from an investigative service officer with Orange County was also given. She said when she examined Saint Simon’s phone after Chery disappeared, the phone had been wiped of all texts, emails and calls.

The trial will continue Wednesday at 9 a.m.
