Shots were fired at about 11:23 p.m. near the intersection of Curry Ford and South Conway roads, Orlando Police spokeswoman Lt. Wanda Miglio said.

When police arrived, they found one of the men in the parking lot outside the 407 Smoke Shop at 4316 Curry Ford Road. As they were securing the scene, they found another man who was shot to death.

The tobacco shop was open at the time, and the shots rang out while someone was making a purchase inside, investigators said.

Investigators were combing through surveillance video from nearby businesses and gathering evidence early Thursday.

The victims' names have not been released.

Officers are searching for a gunman. An armed person was reportedly spotted running south on Conway Road in a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The person could be in his late 20s or early 30s, but no other description was given out.

The southbound lanes of Conway Road to Griffin Alley were blocked off for the investigation Thursday morning.
