Friends of a woman who was kidnapped and mistakenly killed due to an alleged love triangle are speaking out.

Janice Zengotita-Torres was abducted as she came home from work and killed. Her body was later found in Ormond Beach.

Two of the suspects in a “murder for hire” plot are being charged with first-degree murder, and another is being charged with premeditated murder. However that still doesn't take away from the pain those who knew the victim are feeling.

The friends we spoke to have asked us not to use their names as they’re afraid of retaliation.

"She was an excellent mother and wife. I am happy to talk about her because these other criminals should not be getting any of the attention," said one friend from Ponce in Puerto Rico.

Those who knew her describe her as helpful, trusting and loving.

Loved ones back home in Puerto Rico are angry, saying the victim’s life was taken away too soon. Detectives said the three suspects mistook her for someone else, but carried out the crime anyways.

Another friend told News 13 she hopes the three individuals get the death penalty for their actions. "She asked for mercy and they didn't listen. They killed her like a dog," she explained.

Friends told News 13 Zengotita-Torres had an accounting degree from the University of Puerto Rico and had been living in Florida for about two years. All they want to do is bid her farewell.

A close friend said, "I hope they come to Puerto Rico -- here to Ponce, so we can say our last goodbye to Janice, so we can move forward… because all of her friends, we're all super sad."

Zengotita-Torres leaves behind her spouse and 14-year-old son. A Facebook post by her husband, written in Spanish, read, "Fly high, my love. Someday we will see you again."

We tried reaching out to relatives of Zengotita-Torres. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office said the family doesn't want their contact information released to the media as they are not ready to speak on the matter.
