The missing woman who Volusia County deputies located Thursday was arrested Friday after she allegedly lied to law enforcement about her disappearance.

Erin Boyd, 31, was reported missing on Tuesday after her boyfriend said that he hadn’t heard from her since Sunday, deputies say.

She was located uninjured and alone at the Chimney Corner Motel in DeLand Thursday.

Although Boyd alleged she was held against her will, deputies say Boyd was initially “evasive” when questioned about her disappearance.

When they arrived to the motel, deputies say Boyd called 911 from her room, asking deputies to let her out. According to authorities, they said it seemed as if she were held against her will.

Boyd then allegedly told a deputy that she was intimidated into leaving home and came to the motel.

Even though she said her phone was taken from her, a deputy said they found her phone in the motel room toilet, which they say was initially empty.

According to a news release, deputies say that they ultimately disproved Boyd’s claim. She will be charged with making a false report to law enforcement and making a false official statement, according to a news release.
