A man who was shot near Matiland Avenue and Oranole Road on Thursday night has not been forthcoming with information, according to the Altamonte Springs Police Department.

Devin Jefferson told police that he was driving southbound on Maitland Avenue in his white BMW X4 at around 9:57 p.m. when he says a white Toyota Camry pulled up and started shooting at him, according to the Police Department's Public Information Officer Evelyn Estevez in a news release.

"Jefferson was struck several times in the leg, pelvis, buttocks and his hand. Jefferson got out of his vehicle, … which had struck a light pole," she described.

The 21-year-old driver stated that he took cover in some bushes and called 911, where eventually the Seminole County Fire Rescue came and transported Jefferson to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, according to Estevez, who stated that his injuries were not life threatening.

However, while at the hospital, Estevez stated that Jefferson did not want to help with the investigation.

"… Jefferson was not completely forthcoming with information or a description of the suspect and stated he did not wish to assist with the investigation nor prosecution," according to Estevez.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that Jefferson was a target.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Altamonte Springs Police Department at 1-407-339-2441 or dial 911.
