Lets get a check of the forecast for this weekend:

Temperatures Friday afternoon made it into the mid to upper 80s under mostly cloudy skies. With a decent wind out of the east-northeast, a few showers were able to move inland and even a couple of thunderstorms.

Tropical moisture sticks around tonight and for the start of the weekend. This means high rain chances will remain for Saturday, but will drop quite a bit by Sunday. Temperatures will be seasonable, in the mid to upper 80s.

While the chance for rain will back off overnight, there will still be a chance for a few showers heading into Saturday morning. Expect mostly cloudy skies otherwise with temperatures in the mid to low 70s.

We’ll see a decent chance for showers and even a few storms to start out the weekend with a lot of moisture sticking around. Some storms could hold heavy rain, which is not a good thing as rivers and lakes remain full following Irma.

Drier air will start to move in on Sunday as winds switch to the north. This will drop rain chances for the end of the weekend and keep a low possibility around for a good portion of next week. Temperatures will stay around 90 degrees.

In the tropics, Hurricane Maria has made a north-northwestward turn and is starting to move away from the southeastern Bahamas. The track of Maria will stay well to the east of Central Florida and does look to stay away from land as it skirts between the United States and Bermuda.

Jose has finally dissipated off the northeast coast there are no longer any warnings in effect.

We do now have Tropical Depression Lee. Lee has been able to regenerate in the Central Atlantic and may be able to strengthen further. Regardless, Lee will remain out over the ocean.

Marine conditions will gradually worsen through the weekend, with winds at 10 to 15 knots and seas at 6 to 8 feet. A moderate-to-high rip current threat is also expected at area beaches. Surfers should expect poor to fair conditions with a stronger east-southeast swell.
