It was a hot and sunny Sunday across Central Florida.

  • Plenty of sunshine
  • Highs in upper 80s, low 90s
  • Three tropical systems

Highs got into the upper 80s and lower 90s. Our overnight will remain quiet with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop to the mid to low 70s.

Highs throughout the week ahead will climb to the upper 80s and lower 90s each day with plenty of sunshine and variable clouds. There is however, the slight chance for isolated showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours as we move into later parts of the work week.

Boating conditions will become more favorable as Jose continues moving further away. Conditions along the intracoastal tomorrow will have a moderate chop. Surfers should be happy about lingering swells as a result of Hurricane Jose making wave heights in the nearshore waters at 5-7 feet. Remember to stay near a lifeguard and don't forget the sunscreen with the elevated UV indices.

The tropics are heated! There are three systems we are monitoring in the Atlantic Ocean.
Hurricane Jose’s track continues to stay well to our northeast with no direct impacts here in central FL except for the improved surfing conditions due to lingering swells. Interests along the northeast seaboard of the US should monitor the storm closely as they will receive impacts from Jose including significant rainfall amounts through Wednesday.

Southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is Tropical Depression Lee. It weakened as of this morning and the track moves west through the Atlantic over the next several days staying out at sea. With no impact to land or the continental United States.

In between Hurricane Jose and Tropical Depression Lee is Hurricane Maria This storm is moving to the west-northwest and is forecast to impact the Leeward Islands tomorrow night and Puerto Rico towards the end of the upcoming work week.
