Bob Ward, the former Isleworth millionaire whose conviction in his wife's shooting death was overturned last year, has bonded out of jail.

He bonded out of the Orange County Jail at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday. Ward was being held on $1 million bond but sought to be released while he awaits another trial in the 2009 slaying of his wife, Diane.

The court determined that Ward was not a flight risk. Court records show that Ward handed over his passport on Aug. 7. He also cannot leave Orange County without the court's permission, must check in with a bondsman every week and surrender all firearms and weapons.

Ward was convicted in 2011 in Diane's shooting death and sentenced to 30 years in prison. His attorney argued that the shooting was a tragic accident that occured while he and his wife, who Ward said was suicidal, struggled over the gun.
