A 17-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-4 Saturday night in Seminole County.

The crash occurred around 11 p.m. on I-4 eastbound at MM 101. 

Troopers said Brandon Thai was traveling on I-4 when for an unknown reason, his Nissan veered off onto the right shoulder. 

The vehicle collided with a tree and caught fire. Troopers said a Seminole sheriff's deputy was westbound on I-4 at the time of the crash. The deputy and his trainee crossed the eastbound lanes on foot and removed the unconscious driver from the burning vehicle.

Troopers said Thai died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
