Our Friday was not a complete washout, but we did have quite a few showers and storms develop throughout the afternoon. This rain is due to an area of low pressure over Central Florida.

This low will be responsible for high rain chances through the weekend. The added rain will keep high temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees; slightly cooler than the start of the week.

We’re also continuing to watch Hurricane Harvey as it impacts Texas. Harvey made landfall near Port O’Connor, Texas as a category 4 hurricane. The last major hurricane to hit the United States was Charley back in 2004.

A few isolated showers will be possible through the overnight hours, but activity will not be too widespread. Skies will be mostly cloudy with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.

Mostly cloudy skies will continue as we head into Saturday afternoon. There will be a slight chance for a few showers during the morning hours and better chances in the afternoon. S

ome storms that develop could hold some gusty wind and heavy rain. Low pressure bringing this rain will slowly move northeast over the next few days.

High rain chances will continue through Sunday before backing off Monday as the low moves into the Atlantic. It’s at this point that the low could take on tropical characteristics. Right now, there is a medium chance as it moves northeast away from Florida. Temperatures will be around 90 degrees.
