Jaquard Cuyler, 26, ran a red light on Southeast 132nd Street Road during a pursuit and slammed into a vehicle traveling through the intersection, troopers said.

Cuyler's vehicle then struck a third vehicle that was stopped at the intersection, according to investigators. Brittany Chmilarski, 29, and Denise Allen, 57, were killed.

Cuyler was seriously injured and died at Ocala Regional Medical Center.

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods told the Ocala Star-Banner that his deputies who initiated the pursuit were not to blame for the fatal collision. He told the newspaper that the deputies followed policy "to a T."
