Lets get a look at the forecast for overnight and into Wednesday:

It was a hot and humid Tuesday afternoon with scattered showers and storms along with temperatures in the mid 90s. Our overnight will remain quiet with warm and muggy condition with temperatures falling to the mid 70s.

Wednesday will be hot and humid once again with scattered showers and storms in the afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 90s.

Rain chances will continue at around 40 percent to 50 percent through the week.

Hurricane Gert winds increased Tuesday afternoon and remains at hurricane status. It is not expected to impact the U.S. as  it continues its northeast path into the cooler Atlantic waters. Although some strengthening is expected over the next day or two, it will begin to weaken by Thursday. We are still watching 3 other areas.

The first wave is an elongated area of low pressure over a thousand miles east of the Lesser Antilles. It is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms and is expected to move west at about 15-20 mph across the Atlantic before crossing into the Caribbean Sea by Friday.

Environmental conditions could become more conducive for further development over the next few days but should become less conducive as it moves into the Caribbean Sea due to added shear.

If you are heading out on the intracoastal with the boat, expect a light chop. A few isolated showers and storms could pose a hazard Wednesday afternoon.

Heading out to the beaches? Wave heights for surfers will be 2-3 feet resulting in poor-fair surfing conditions. With the moderate risk for rip currents, it is safe to stay near a life guard! UV indices will be elevated again so don't forget the sunscreen!
