Two men who are accused of robbing and stabbing the manager of Wolfy’s Lakefront Bar and Grill in Sanford were caught on Monday night, stated the Seminole County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.

Alfredo Jackson Rivas and Guy Hughes are accused of approaching Larry Picardat, a manager at Wolfy’s bar and grill, at about 7:15 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 6, according to deputies.

Officials say the men directed Picardat to a safe inside the business and when Picardat refused to open the safe, one of the men stabbed Picardat several times.

Picardat was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery.

Shortly after the robbery, Sanford Police released a surveillance picture showing the accused robbers’ SUV.

Investigators say thanks to an overwhelming response from the community, they were able to find that SUV in Sanford on Monday night and eventually arrest the two suspects.

“That’s what really brought this together, is the citizen participation,” said Ronny Neal, a spokesperson for the Sanford Police Department.

The manager and victim, Larry Picardat, is known as “Pic” and is well-known in the community, which is now thankful for such quick arrests in the case.

“They’ve been praising the police officers, because again 48 hours is a quick turnaround,” said Neal. “I wish that again it would work that way for every case we have.”

Wolfy’s Lakefront Bar and Grill posted on Facebook it is planning on dedicating its weekly Thursday night event this week to the Sanford Police Department. Fundraisers are also planned for Picardat, who’s recovering in the hospital.

Rivas is charged with homicide-willful first-degree murder premeditated, robbery with a weapon and cash purge.

Hughes is facing homicide-willful first-degree murder premeditated and robbery with a weapon charges.

Both men are both being held in the Seminole County jail without bond.
