An Orange County deputy is in serious condition after she lost control of her patrol car and crashed into two vehicles while traveling on John Young Parkway. 

The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. Saturday. 

Troopers said the 23-year-old deputy had the emergency equipment activated on her patrol car when for an unknown reason, she lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the opposite southbound lanes of John Young, striking two vehicles traveling in the southbound lanes. 

The name of the deputy has not been released yet, pending notification of next of kin. 

The deputy is in serious condition, troopers said. 

The drivers of the other two vehicles only received minor injuries. 

According to the crash report, the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
