Scattered showers and storms persisted for the evening hours, but the activity will continue to diminish overnight. Expect variable clouds through the early morning with humid lows in the mid to upper 70s.

More rain chances are expected to kick off the weekend. The upper-level low will slowly exit the area, but will be close enough to keep an enhanced chance of scattered storms. Highs for Saturday will be in the low 90s.

Slightly lower storm chances are expected for Sunday, but many locations will still see activity. Temps for Sunday will be back in the low 90s.

The typical rainy season weather pattern looks to continue into next week with AM sunshine and PM storms. Temps will also remain warm, with highs in the low to mid 90s.

There are some early indications some slightly drier air may return to close next week.

In the tropics, we continue to watch a system north of Puerto Rico.

The complex continues to move northwestward and could develop further this weekend. It still has a medium chance of development over the next 5 days. If it becomes a named storm, its name would be "Gert."

There are no indications this complex will impact Florida.
