Children who need back-to-school physicals but aren't eligible for government health care programs can see a doctor for free over the next few days.

  • Shepherd's Hope conducting back to school physicals through Aug. 10
  • Exams are happening at select clinics on select days
  • Children must be uninsured or have no other options

For the fourth straight year, Shepherd’s Hope partnered with Nemours Children’s Health System to offer free back-to-school physicals and other medical services for uninsured and underinsured kids.

General health assessments and sports physicals can also be conducted. Specialists with Nemours also conduct children's vision and hearing screenings.

"It is a state law that a child entering a public or private school in Florida have a vision, hearing, and physical to enroll in school," said Marni Stahlman with Shepherd's Hope. "And we know with just two weeks to go here in Orange and Seminole County, these children would really have difficultly finding that service."

Appointments are required for physicals.
