If you're hoping to spend some time outdoors, your best chances are Friday and Saturday. Here's the forecast:

  • Lower rain chances Friday, Saturday
  • Seasonable temperatures in the 90s
  • Rain chances up Sunday

It was a hot and humid Thursday with hazy sunshine that gave way to scattered showers and storms. We will stay quiet for the remainder of our overnight with partly cloudy skies as temperatures fall back to the mid to upper 70s.

By daybreak for your Friday, temperatures will be in the low 80s with a mix of sun and clouds to start followed by showers and storms developing in the afternoon.

The weekend will offer temperatures that are more seasonable in the low 90s and a return of more numerous afternoon storms with an approaching cold front which will result in slightly lower temperatures for the start of the work week.

In the tropics, the Atlantic Basin remains quiet overall. There is a weak wave south of the Cabo Verde Islands in the far western Atlantic that has a low chance of development as it travels over open water with no threat to land. Otherwise, no new storms are expected for the next two to five days.

Fair boating conditions will be favorable before isolated showers and storms pose a hazard tomorrow in the afternoon. Minor east-southeast trade swell in the nearshore waters will result in poor conditions for surfing. With a moderate risk of rip currents, all swimmers and surfers are encouraged to stay near a lifeguard. The UV index will be elevated once again so don't forget the sunscreen!
