Walt Disney World has added a new feature to its My Disney Experience mobile app.

  • Online hotel check-in available in Disney's mobile app
  • Guests can begin check-in up to 60 days before arrival
  • Rooms can be unlocked with MagicBands

Guests staying Disney Resort hotels can use the new Disney’s Online Check-In Service, bypassing the front desk.

With the new feature, guests can make room reservations and add credit card information.

According to a post on the Disney Parks Blog, guests can start the check-in process up to 60 days before their arrival. MagicBands work as room keys, allowing guest to unlock their rooms after they're ready.

The feature also allows guests to receive notifications when their rooms are ready.

The online check-in joins other features offered in the app, including mobile ordering. Through the app, guests can view menus, order food and pay. When guests arrive at a restaurant, they can bypass the regular ordering line and pick up food at a designated "mobile order" window.

Hotel guests can still visit the front desk for check-in if they wish. That option hasn't gone anywhere.
