The hot and muggy trending continues across Central Florida. Here's your weather forecast:

  • Rain chances around 50% Thursday
  • No break from the humidity
  • Feels-like temperatures around 100

It was another sultry day across the peninsula, with temperatures in the 90s and our feels like temperature above 100 Wednesday afternoon.

As the east coast sea breeze moved inland, showers and storms were able to pop up. These isolated storms held frequent lightning and heavy rain as they slowly moved west.

Our sky clears overnight with another warm and muggy night in store. A southerly flow Thursday will tap more moisture and provide us a higher rain chance, before we drag in slightly drier air for Friday and Saturday and lower rain chances to 30 percent. Highs stay in the low to mid 90s.

In the tropics, an area of low pressure southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands runs a low chance of becoming something tropical.

No change in the surfcast for the next couple days, with a minor east-southeast trade swell and wave heights to knee high creating for surfing conditions.

As you’re heading into the waters to cool off, keep in mind we’ll still have a moderate rip current threat the rest of this week. Sea surface temps are in the upper 70s to lower 80s now along our east coast.
