Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay will offer up an unusual "Fresh from Florida" meal for his latest cooking show: Burmese python from the Everglades.

  • Gordon Ramsay went Burmese python hunting in the Everglades
  • Killed three pythons with son, state trapper

Ramsay and his son joined a trapper earlier this month to hunt the invasive pythons in the Everglades for an episode of his show "The F Word with Gordon Ramsay."

The South Florida Water Management District says the Ramsays and trapper Kyle Penniston caught and killed three pythons in western Miami-Dade County, and then Ramsay cooked up a python alongside levee in a portable oven.

Researchers say the invasive pythons are decimating native mammal populations in the Everglades. The South Florida Water Management District and Florida Dish and Wildlife allow hunting all year long on public lands, with no bag limit.

However, FWC does not recommend eating the pythons found in the Everglades National Park because the meat has been found to have very high levels of mercury.
