Here's your Central Florida weather forecast for late Monday into Tuesday, with a glimpse at midweek conditions.

We had a hot and humid afternoon with isolated showers and storms. Temperatures climbed into the low 90s with heat indices near 100 degrees.

Tonight will be quiet, warm, and muggy as showers and storms taper off with temperatures falling into the mid 70s. Tomorrow will start out partly sunny with isolated showers and storms in the afternoon; highs will reach the mid 90s.

Showers and storms will dissipate as we continue into the later parts of our evening with the loss of daytime heating. Lows will fall to the mid 70s with just a few lingering showers overnight; otherwise, we will have partly to mostly cloudy skies.

As we approach daybreak, temperatures will be in the upper 70s with a mix of sun and clouds to start out your Tuesday. Due to high pressure in place to our east, we will have a lower coverage of afternoon showers and storms for tomorrow and Wednesday resulting in hotter temperatures.

Later in the week, added moisture and instability will boost rain chances back up again and this pattern will hold through until the weekend. Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to low 90s each day.

In the tropics, there are no new areas of development expected across the Atlantic for the next 2 to 5 days.

An east-southeast trade swell and wave heights of 1-2 feet will lead to poor conditions in the surf for Tuesday. The rip current threat stays moderate, so be sure you're swimming near a lifeguard stand.

We've also had a number of jellyfish stings along the Volusia County coastline. If you get stung, seek out a lifeguard or remove the stingers and apply vinegar.
