We closed the weekend with plenty of cloud cover and scattered showers and storms.

Showers ended quickly Sunday evening but the clouds will remain in place overnight. A few showers may attempt to redevelop toward daybreak west of I-75, but primarily along the Gulf coast. Overnight lows will fall into the low 70s.

More clouds and rain chances look to continue into Monday. We will again see partly sunny skies with scattered showers and storms developing. Just like the past several days, the rain activity may develop as early as midday. Highs for Monday will be in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Slightly drier is expected for the rest of the week, but scattered showers and storms will still develop. Highs will also hold in the low 90s.

It now looks like rain chances may increase further heading into next weekend as more tropical moisture pushes back into the area.

In the tropics, all remains quiet in the Gulf, Caribbean and open waters of the Atlantic. No major activity is expected over the next five days.

Boaters heading out on the water on Monday will again have favorable conditions early, but storms will be likely by midday and afternoon.  If you are heading out to the beaches, swimmers and surfers will face a moderate risk of rip currents. Conditions remain poor for surfers with an east-southeast swell and wave heights at 2-3 feet.
