A driver was killed and a passenger was seriously injured after their car ran off the road and struck a tree.

The crash occurred around 4 a.m. at Oak Drive and Riverview Avenue in Seminole County. 

Troopers said the Hyundai was traveling northbound on Oak Drive, when for an unknown reason, the vehicle drove off the roadway and traveled into the wooded area. 

The vehicle ended up hitting a tree and killing the driver, Haneefah Miller, 38. The passenger, Leroy Gray, 29, was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital in serious condition. Both are from Deltona, Fl. 

According to the report, it is unknown at this time if alcohol played a factor in the crash. 

The crash remains under investigation.
