The bond hearing for Bob Ward, the Isleworth millionaire convicted of killing his wife, was rescheduled Thursday after he was unable to make it to court.

The bond hearing was rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27 after his attorneys decided to wait before going forward.

The state wants an author hearing, in which lawyers present their reasons for keeping Ward in court. However, without Ward in court, his attorneys decided to postpone the bond/author hearing.

Ward's attorneys are asking for bond to be set to $100,000, for Ward to be given an ankle tracker and be able to live with his daughter in Atlanta. However, Orange County no longer offers ankle monitors.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 23.

Ward was convicted of murder and given 30 years in prison in 2011 for killing his wife, Diane.

Last year, that sentence was overturned.

Ward was first arrested and charged with murder of his wife, Diane, in 2009 after she was found shot in the face in the couple's Isleworth home.

Ward's attorney argued that the shooting was a tragic accident.

In 2011, Ward was sentenced to 30 years in prison. But in 2016, that conviction was overturned because a judge ruled Ward's previous attorney erred by not objecting to certain evidence during Ward's questioning.
