Another day of heavy storms caused damage in Central Florida, this time in Brevard County.
Lightning struck a home Wednesday afternoon, causing a fire in the attic. The home was on Canal Court in Merritt Island. Two people were displaced, but no one was hurt.

There were also reports of another lightning fire at a home in Lansing Island. Two dogs are OK after being rescued.
Meanwhile in Cocoa Village, heavy rain caused a roof to collapse on a building on Willard Street.

The building was being renovated at the time and the roof gave way.
Workers were still inside, but fortunately on the other side of the building.
A restaurant owner in the same building was in the kitchen when he heard a loud bang.
"I'm getting ready to open my doors and all of a sudden you got two feet of water coming right at you," said Kenny Rivera. "It's unnerving. Just glad the workers got out and no one was hurt."
Cocoa code enforcement is assessing the damage. The contractors say they will rebuild the roof and continue renovations when the all clear is given.
The heavy rain also caused flooding in the Cocoa area, with flash floods in the area of State Road 520 and U.S. 1.
