A standoff with a registered sex offender in Kissimmee ended after about nine hours, Osceola County deputies said Tuesday.

  • Raynard Wells charged with aggravated assault
  • No one was injured during hours-long standoff
  • People who live in the area said they weren't evacuated

Deputies said a female called 911 at about 2:22 a.m. stating her boyfriend, Raynard Wells, threated her with a firearm.

Wells barricaded himself inside a home on Eagle Crossing Drive in the Eagle Lake subdivision. He was eventually taken into custody by SWAT officers at about 11:30 a.m.

Deputies said he is facing aggravated assault charges.

No injuries were reported during the standoff, and no one else was inside the home.

Wells had an active warrant for his arrest for failing to register as a sex offender in Osceola County.
