A 70-year-old pedestrian who was hit and killed in a Deltona accident on Wednesday night has been identified, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Isaias Padilla Hernandez, of Deltona, was crossing Doyle Road at around 11:22 p.m., near Courtland Boulevard, when he was struck by a red Dodge Caravan driven by Larissa Zellerkraut, stated authorities. 

The Deltona driver tried to avoid striking Hernandez, but the pedestrian was hit by the passenger side of the mini van, deputies explained in a press release. At the accident scene, News 13 noticed significant damage to the front of the van and a shattered windshield.

Deputies stated that Zellerkraut did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and she and her two passengers were not injured.

No charges have been filed against Zellerkraut at this time.
