Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for Thursday:

  • Rain chances continue for next several days
  • Some areas could see 1-2 inches of rain
  • Highs Thursday in the upper 80s, low 90s
  • Tropics remain quiet for now

We had a very warm and muggy Wednesday afternoon with minimal rain coverage; temperatures settled around the upper 80s and low 90s. Our overnight will remain quiet with partly cloudy skies and mild temps falling into the mid 70s.

On Thursday we will have another round of afternoon showers and storms; rain chances will be at 50 percent with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s.

With showers and storms tapering off, the rest of the overnight will be warm and muggy with partly cloudy skies; low temperatures will be in the mid 70s.

With a stationary boundary stalled out to our north, we had dry air move in from the south keeping rain chances minimal Wednesday afternoon. As the front pushes continues to move east, we will see moisture build it's way back in for the rest of the work week and weekend ahead.

There will be a mix of sun and clouds to start followed by a round of showers and storms in the afternoon.

Temperatures will stay in the 90s and rain chances will hang around the 50 to 60 percent mark through the weekend.

All is quiet in the tropics for now.

If you plan on heading out to the beaches, surfing conditions will be poor with wave heights at only 1-2 feet; showers and storms will develop in the afternoon. There is a moderate risk for rip currents so be sure to stay near a lifeguard and don't forget the sunscreen!
