Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for the rest of the workweek:

  • Afternoon showers, storms continue in Central Florida
  • Rain chances around 60 percent for Wednesday
  • SEE BELOW: See our 7-day forecast ▼

We had a very warm and muggy Tuesday afternoon with scattered showers and storms that fired up early; temperatures settled around the upper 80s and low 90s. Our overnight will remain quiet as showers and storms continue to taper off; temperatures will fall into the mid 70s.

Wednesday rain chances will be 60 percent with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s.

With plenty of atmospheric moisture along with higher temperatures, we have resumed the pattern of widespread showers and storms in the afternoon due to sea breeze boundary collisions. Some of these storms have been on the stronger side producing frequent lightning, torrential downpours, and wind gusts in excess of 40+ MPH.

Our overnight will be warm and muggy with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid 70s. As we approach daybreak, we will have humid conditions along with a mix of sun and clouds before another round of showers and storms.

Being under a marginal risk for severe weather, a few storms could be on the strong to severe end with gusty winds and minor flooding being the main threats.

A tropical wave near western Africa is expected to move into the far eastern Atlantic Ocean by late Wednesday into Thursday. There is a 20 percent chance for development of this system later this week before conditions within the environment become unfavorable for further development.

If you plan on heading out to the beaches, showers and storms will develop into the afternoon! There is a moderate risk for rip currents so be sure to stay near a lifeguard and don't forget the sunscreen!
