Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for the workweek ahead:

  • Rain chances Tuesday at 70%
  • Temperatures in the upper 80s, low 90s
  • Activity expected to tape after midnight
  • SEE BELOW: See our 7-day forecast ▼

We had a very hot and humid Monday with strong widespread showers and storms that fired up early; temperatures settled around the upper 80s and low 90s.

We are expecting an overall quiet evening as showers and storms taper off; temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 70s overnight. Tuesday rain chances will be 70 percent with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Being under a marginal risk for severe weather, there were numerous scattered showers and storms across the area Monday afternoon with the early movement of the sea breeze frontal boundaries.

Majority of these storms were on the stronger side producing frequent lightning, torrential downpours, and wind gusts in excess of 40+ MPH. As moisture continues to build back in due to a stationary front just to our north, we will resume with this pattern of afternoon showers and storms especially along the I-4 corridor; some of which could pack quite a punch.

We will remain quiet throughout the overnight with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. As we approach daybreak, conditions will be muggy with some sun and clouds before the showers and storms return.

Rain chances remain high for the rest of the week.

Conditions in the tropics are quiet with no formation expected over the next 5 days.

For surfers, conditions will be very poor with wave heights 1-2 feet and a small ESE tradeswell. If you plan on heading out to the beaches, rain chances will be at 70% by the afternoon with numerous showers and storms! There is a moderate risk for rip currents so be sure to stay near a lifeguard and don't forget the sunscreen!
