Central Florida will see scattered showers and storms heading into Monday.

  • Expect heavy rainfall, gusty winds, lightning
  • Rain chances increase Monday
  • Highs to stay in low 90s

Scattered showers will continue to fade away during the overnight hours. Expect gradual clearing through the early morning, though some patchy fog may develop in isolated areas. Overnight lows will be in the mid 70s. We'll see plenty of sunshine to start the morning hours, with midday temps back in the mid 80s.

Even better rain and storm chances are expected to start the work week Monday. A weak cold front will nose into the region, bringing an even greater chance for afternoon showers and storms. Highs for Monday will be in the low 90s.

The enhanced rain chances will continue Tuesday and Wednesday as the front slowly falls apart across the area. We will again see scattered showers and storms develop, with the best chance in the afternoon and early evening time frame. Highs both days will be in the low 90s.

As the front fades away late week, the more typical sea breeze pattern will develop across the area. This will result in slightly lower coverage of showers and storms for Thursday and Friday. Highs both days will hold in the low 90s.

There are early indications rain chances may increase as we head into next weekend.

In the tropics, all is quiet in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and the open waters of the Atlantic. No major activity is expected over the next 5 days.
