The Titusville Police Department introduced its new K-9s to the community Wednesday.

  • 2 new Belgian Malinois for Titusville police
  • The puppies are 13 months old, will complete training in August

These two Belgian Malinois males are 13 months old, and every day for several weeks they've trained 11 hours a day, according to Officer Brenden Distler.

Titusville police say the dogs were born in Belgium and come from a long line of police and military service dogs.

Their training concludes in August, and then the dogs will assist not only with detecting drugs and narcotics -- but also finding suspects or missing persons.

You can help name the dogs. Go to the Titusville Police Dept. Facebook page. Winning names will be revealed on July 14 at the Friday Nite Live Street Party.
