  • Brevard investigators consider it a homicide case
  • Deputies have IDed 2 men, think deaths are drug-related

The men, identified as 35-year-old Joseph Watt and 35-year-old Michael Johnson Jr., were considered missing after Watt's brother called the Brevard County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday to say the men hadn't been seen since June 16 in the Merritt Island area, investigators said.

Just after 9 p.m., Watt's brother called back the Sheriff's Office after finding the bodies of the men in the home on the 6900 block of Ackerman Avenue.

Trauma to the men indicated the deaths were homicides, deputies said. Investigators think the incident was drug-related.

"He was an older gentleman, so he kept to himself. I've never seen him outside," Joseph Guarine said of one of the men. "I've seen family members go in and out of the house a couple times in the past."

Brevard crime scene and homicide units are at the home, collecting evidence and interviewing people.

Anyone with information on the deaths is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 321-633-8413 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
