Tropical Storm Bret has become a remnant tropical wave in the eastern Caribbean after striking parts of South America and the Lesser Antilles.

The final advisory has Bret with winds of 40 mph. Bret lost its closed circulation and has become an open tropical wave.

Tropical storm watches have been canceled for the islands of Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire.

Rainfall between 1 to 2 inches still remains possible with this system.

The second named storm of the Atlantic season developed on Monday. The complex is a rare June African wave that survived the trip across the Atlantic.

The remnants of Bret are expected to dissipate in the central Caribbean.
