An Orange County judge on Tuesday morning set a trial date for the former security guard who is accused of breaking into a woman's downtown Orlando apartment and killing her in 2015.

Stephen Duxbury's trial is scheduled to begin Nov. 13. He was indicted in February 2016 by a grand jury on charges of first-degree murder, attempted sexual battery with a weapon or physical force and burglary of a dwelling with assault or death, is scheduled to begin Nov. 13.

Investigators said Duxbury attempted to rape 27-year-old Sasha Samsudean at the Uptown Place Apartments on Orange Avenue before she was killed in October 2015.

Duxbury wasn't in the courtroom Tuesday morning, but members of Samsudean's family were present.

Prosecutors aren't seeking the death penalty in the case.
