Give Kids the World Village is a nonprofit resort that provides free vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The children there were surprised by Girl Scouts of Citrus, which donated 650 cases of cookies.

Rosangela Rubera, who just graduated from high school and has been in Girl Scouts since fourth grade, said this is what community is all about.

“I’ve always been one to say I love helping others and especially little kids that don't have a say on whether they are able to live or when they go,” Rosangela said. “Coming here and sharing my love of cookies makes... I am trying not to choke up right now, but it’s so great,” she expressed.

Central Moving and Storage also helped transport the boxes of cookies to Give Kids the World Village.
