  • Cocoa police officer spotted Arthur Egendoerfer allegedly speeding out of gas station
  • Officer chased Egendoerfer, who at one point allegedly tried to ram the officer
  • Egendoerfer also accused the officer of harassing him

The chase began about one o’clock Saturday morning after the police officer says Arthur Egendoerfer sped out of a 7-Eleven gas station in Cocoa. Shortly after the chase started, the suspect stopped, but it wasn’t to give himself up.

“Hey, tell me what I did! I’m a Domino’s driver,” Egendoerfer can be heard yelling to the officer in released body cam video.

“What the (expletive) did I do? Hey, you’re harassing me," Egendoerfer allegedly said. "Go the (expletive) home, like I am.”

The suspect got back into his car and drove off. The chase continued, with the suspect at one point reaching speeds near 100 miles per hour on side roads. At one point, the chase moved onto some dirt roads.

The officer called for backup. At one point the 20-year-old suspect stopped his car again, then the officer said the he began driving in reverse towards the officer’s car.

“He just rammed my car,” said the officer.

After that, Egendoerfer was seen getting out of his car. The officer got out and used a Taser on him. Even after he was stunned and on the ground, Egendoerfer allegedly still tried to complain to the officer.

“Listen, I didn’t like your harassment, you understand me?” Egendoerfer is heard saying.

But as backup arrived, police took Egendoerfer into custody. He’s now facing several felony charges including fleeing, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and felony criminal mischief.

Egendoerfer was able to post bond and he was released from jail Sunday afternoon. He’ll be due back in court to face a judge on the charges.

The officer was not injured and no other drivers on the road were injured during Saturday morning’s chase.
