Exotic pet owners will have a chance to surrender their unwanted animals this weekend without cost.

It's all part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Exotic Pet Amnesty Day.

People can turn in their animals rather than releasing them into the wild. Owners will be allowed to turn in non-native animals without penalty. Live exotic animals will also be on display.

The Central Florida Zoo in Sanford is taking part in the program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

It's free and open to the public.
