SpaceX successfully conducted a test of its Falcon 9 rocket known as a “static test fire” Sunday afternoon.

The test was in preparation of a launch targeted for June 1 from Kennedy Space Center’s pad 39A at 5:55 p.m. EDT.

A Falcon 9 rocket will carry a Dragon spacecraft loaded with nearly 6,000 pounds of supplies and research to the International Space Station.

The unpressurized trunk of the spacecraft will also transport solar panels, equipment to study neutron stars and tools for Earth-observation.

SpaceX is also planning a first stage landing at nearby Cape Canaveral Air Force Station less than 10 minutes after liftoff.

Thursday’s launch will be SpaceX’s 11th commercial resupply mission to the ISS.
