It is a personal crusade for a man who is known in the community as Brother Tim.

“My oldest daughter was kidnapped, beat up and raped by her ex-boyfriend and I now have a granddaughter because of that, so I take this very personal. It’s close to home and something needs to be done," began Brother Tim, the founder of the Stop Domestic Violence Network in Central Florida.

“We kinda fly under the radar," Brother Tim continued.

The Stop Domestic Violence Network was founded two years ago.

“If you call the number on the hotline, it goes right to my cell phone. We get up all time of night and just help people, again, we volunteer to do this because it’s our passion," explained Brother Tim, who is also an ordained minister.

Brother Tim coordinated donations after the devastating fire at Unno Boutique Hotel in Kissimmee that happened on Dec. 23, 2016.

However, before the blaze, the Stop Domestic Violence Network was already providing resources to residents.

“There were 250 people in that hotel, 70 of them were domestic violence victims that were placed there. They had nowhere else to go, so I had no cash on hand and I decided to sell my motorcycle and put that money towards feeding and housing people that were in need," Brother Tim shared.

The nonprofit organization is sponsoring a Bike Night to raise awareness and money every Wednesday night in June from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Graffiti Junktion Clermont on Highway 27 in Clermont.

Through housing, counseling, job placement and other services, the Stop Domestic Violence Network is standing together, helping one person at a time.

“The network helps victims become survivors," Brother Tim added.

"We just want people to know we’re here. Some people may come because they need help, some people may come because they want to join the fight and help those who are in need," Brother Tim concluded.

Brother Tim said the Stop Domestic Violence Network helped 78 people in 2016.

So far, in 2017 they have already helped 46 survivors of domestic violence.
