Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for Monday night and the rest of the workweek:

We tracked some intense showers and thunderstorms Monday evening and a few produced over 1 inch of rain. Now we have another muggy night ahead under a partly to mostly cloudy sky.

Storm chances lower Tuesday and then increase to 70 percent Wednesday with severe weather possible late and then 50 percent before noon Thursday.

A front stalling in the panhandle will begin breaking down a ridge of high pressure over us, allowing more moisture to stream in and rain chances to increase. Showers and storms developed Monday along boundary collisions, some of them containing very heavy rain and frequent lightning. We'll see slightly drier air Tuesday and pull rain chances back to 30 percent to 40 percent.

Expect a mix of clouds and sun with highs either side of 90 degrees. As a trough digs deep into the Southeast, another cold front will sweep in and increase our rain chances Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday. A few severe storms will be possible Wednesday night with hail, strong wind, locally heavy rain and the chance of an isolated tornado. Memorial Day weekend looks hot and dry.

Not much chance in our surfcast the next couple of days with a minor east-southeast trade wind well and wave heights of 1-2 feet creating poor conditions.

We'll be on the lookout for a few isolated showers and storms along the coast Tuesday. Water temperatures are in the upper 70s along the Flagler and Volusia coast and low 80s along the Brevard County coast.
