St. Cloud police distributing masks due to smoke from brush fire

The St. Cloud Police Department is distributing masks this weekend to people affected by smoke from a nearly 40-acre brush fire.

Masks can be picked up at the police department at 4700 Neptune Road from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Police said wind and smoke are expected to continue over the next few days.

The brush fire ignited Thursday and prompted the evacuation of a nearby elementary school.

Officials said a downed power line was the cause.
