Three people were killed in a two-vehicle crash on State Road 50 near Bithlo, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on SR-50 near Gloucester Street just after 5 p.m.

The driver of a BMW traveling westbound on SR-50 lost control of the vehicle, troopers said. The car crossed the center median and overturned on pickup truck driven by Linda McCormick, 69, of Christmas.

The pickup tuck then traveled onto the shoulder, striking a fence.

Both drivers died at the scene.

The identity of the BMW driver has not been released.

Three passengers were riding in the pickup truck at the time of the crash.

Dylon McCormick, 13, Teddy McCormick, 73, and Carl McCormick, 74, all from Christmas, FL, were taken to hospitals. Dylon McCormick was pronounced dead at Arnold Palmer Hospital.

Teddy McCormick was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Carl McCormick was also taken there in serious condition. 

SR-50 was shutdown in both directions due to the crash. It has since reopened.
