The person of interest wanted for questioning in the slayings of a woman and her adult son has been found and is in custody, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said Friday afternoon.

Robert Joseph Cardin was taken into custody in New York on a probation violation, the Sheriff's Office tweeted.

He was wanted for questioning in the homicides of Martha Cardin, 75, and her son, Steven Cardin, 55, who found dead inside their home on 1501 Ravana Drive just after 3 p.m. Monday.

Martha Cardin was a longtime Florida Hospital employee, and deputies were called to the residence for a wellness check after she missed several work shifts.

She is the mother of Robert Cardin and Steven's brother.
